Queen Bead is a local Tennessee-based atelier, founded on a singular belief: that heritage craft and modern luxury belong on the same wrist.

We source authentic Krobo glass beads directly from the artisan women of Ghana's Eastern Region — each one molded from recycled glass and fired in traditional clay ovens, exactly as it has been for generations. Every piece is then hand-finished and assembled with quiet precision in our Tennessee studio.

The Journey: From Clay Ovens to the Modern Wrist

Our story begins in the historic lands of Krobo in Ghana's Eastern Region. Here, the making of glass beads is a dialogue between history, earth, and community. For centuries, these beads have served as symbols of status, identity, and rite of passage.

The process begins with collected recycled glass, finely crushed and layered into local clay molds. Fired in traditional wood-burning ovens, the glass emerges textured and full of character. The artisan women of Krobo bring these beads to life with hand-painted symbolic motifs using natural pigments — a skill passed down from mother to daughter. No two beads are identical.

The Tennessee Atelier: Refined by Hand

Once these pieces arrive at our Tennessee studio, we pair their organic character with clean lines, precious metals, and thoughtful structures. We inspect every bead and balance the bold textures of Ghana with a modern, refined aesthetic.
